Unlike standard wide-aisle or drive-in setups, a VNA racking configuration requires specialised articulated turret trucks or trilateral stacker cranes that operate inside captive guide lanes. These handling vehicles feature masts with 180-degree rotating forks that retrieve pallets directly from the left, right, or straight ahead without requiring the truck body itself to turn within the aisle.
Because the clearance between the handling machine and upright columns can be under 100 mm on either side, the structural integrity, vertical deflection tolerance, and physical plumbness of the racking framework must satisfy stringent European structural codes, including EN 15512:2020 for steel static storage design and EN 15620 for tolerances, deformations, and clearances.
At Guangzhou Heda Shelves Co., Ltd., our engineers fabricate heavy-duty upright frames using continuous cold-formed Q235B and Q355B structural steel profiles. Each connection utilises cold-formed wrap-around beam connectors with high safety-pin shear limits, back-to-back row spacers, dynamic aisle portal top ties, and precision run-out anchors to eliminate cumulative frame sway at heights above 12 metres.
